Cleaning
My whole monday would be a fail if my sink is overflowing with dishes and my laundry is undone.I would suddenly feel demotivated.
I hope this is also something that you could also relate to.Just take sometime or hire help to clean around the home. For me this looks like
- Changing new bedsheets and pillow covers
- Clearing my table
- Doing the laundry and the dishes
Cleaning is a therapy start small and slow.Start by cleaning your desk and enjoy a sip of coffee in the freshly cleaned good smelling space. For me every Sunday is a reset day, I start cleaning in the morning and make my whole room feel like a whole new space ready for the new week ahead.
This will motivate you to keep cleaning weekly.
Make a meal plan or meal prep for the week
I was someone who would eat anything any day that is available in my refrigerator or would just order takeout.
But when i wanted to start having a balanced meal I started to make a meal plan for the week.I just have a excel sheet that I would use to write down the meals for the week every sunday and just blindly follow them through the week.
This also helps me to know what groceries I need for the week so that i can quickly go for a grocery run and get everything at one go. Meal plan/prep can make you also eat healthy mindful foods instead of eating fast food out.
I also like to make ginger shots on Sunday and store it in the fridge.By this way I can intake healthy shots everyday.
Schedule your calendar for the upcoming week
Have a look at what things you neeed to do this week and on any projects that you are working,Schedule time aside for that.
Before bed i would like to write down my goals for the week and time block it in my calender.
Also I look at my yearly or monthly goals and make them into actionable tasks that could be done this week for me to stay on track of my goals.During the month end,I would do a monthly reset and set goals for the next month and put it in my calender.
More than to do lists, time blocking is important so that you will have a set time to do each tasks for the week.I like to do the same on my google calender
Declutter your space
Sometimes clutter is not only physical clutter.there is digital aswell as mental clutter. On sundays just go through your gallery and other social media apps and delete unwanted photos and unfollow people who you dont resonate with.
In your laptop as well, segregate files, delete and run a virus detection and make it well cleaned and organised. This will save time for you over the week and keep your devices clean.
Mental declutter is also real when you are facing overwhelmed about the week or feel scared when a new presentation is coming up,There are different ways to instantly declutter your mind as well.
Track your budget
Budget tracking is extremely important so that we know where our money is going.
When I’m doing my meal plan I would also just take a moment to track what I already spent on the last week and what my budget is for the next week.
I just do it on my Budget Track excel sheet and it helps me all the time.It also keeps me on top of my financial goals easily.
Indulge in self care
Self care is really important before you have a busy week.Just enjoying little things for yourself could help you to enjoy your life even more.
Also plan what you would like to do in the coming weekend. This will also keep you having something to look forward to.
Self care can look like
- Taking a bubble bath with candles
- Watching your favorite movie show with popcorns
- Expressing creative outlet for me it looks like doing embroidery
- Going out for a spa
- Getting your nails and toes done
Self care sundays are so important because they help you to schedule some me time for yourself.
Get to bed early
On Sundays, allow yourself to hit the bed early instead of scrolling or watching TV. Screentime late in the evenings can mess your cortisol levels and you will not be able to get a proper sleep no matter what. So consider having no screens after 7pm.
Getting to bed early will help you to be well rested and instantly wake up earlier the next day and get a head start.
Key takeaways
Sundays are the days that we can spend time for ourselves to reset and take time for ourselves. During this day, preparing for the new week can also get us ahead in our goals. It doesn’t have to be extensive, you can easily adopt few from this blog posts that make you feel resonated and follow then as your Sunday routine.
This simple Sunday routine has helped me to make the most out of my upcoming week.So try out these steps and let me know which worked the best for you in the comments below.
