Gratitude list
Everyday before you go to sleep or immediately after you wake up write down a list of gratitude.
If you don’t want to write it down, consider just saying it to yourself in your mind and feel the gratitude rush through your body. By doing this habit daily we start being present. We feel grounded and can improve mental clarity to take decisions.
Overtime when we look at this list, it will make us feel happy to know that there is so many things that we can be grateful for. You can pull the list up when you are feeling sad or unmotivated and this will give you a hit of clarity.
Start your day with nature to improve mental clarity
However tempting it might be to immediately look at your notifications, take a breath and put your phone down.
Go out in nature for a few minutes and calm your mind down. Immediately after waking up, your mind cannot be bombarded with information that is what will lead to a mental override. Even if you don’t wanna go outside, if you have a balcony with plants step in there for sometime or opening up your window and breathing in some fresh air is more than enough to improve mental clarity to take on that day.
Nature and the outdoor environment has the ability to heal us and bring us back to our senses giving us peace of mind. If you would like to learn more about how nature can help us in our life, head to 5 ways to get on your self growth journey along with the Planet, this World Environment Day.

Be prepared for the next day
Usually brain fog happens when we are not organized or prepared for the future. So at the end of everyday prepare a list of things to be completed the next day or a brain dump.
This takes all the unnecessary to do lists off your mind and helps you to make an action plan in paper. This helps to to eliminate decision fatigue as well especially in the mornings.
Also prepping the outfits for the next day, keeping your bag ready will also help you improve mental clarity for the next day
Organization
Mental clarity always starts with organization.
When we are organized and not all over the place, we can almost always tackle all the problems thrown at us. Just like when our desk is overflowing, we can organize and it immediately gives us a sense of accomplishment and helps us to think better right.
Same way when our day is organized in the calendar or when our files are organized we tend to not miss or forget anything thus eliminating brain fog and improve mental clarity. Organization might feel scary at first for someone who is trying it new, but step by step we can learn along the way.
Gut health is brain health
Gut is called our second brain and its health is directly connected to our brain health.
So try and consume foods that enhance our brain health like walnuts, leafy greens, berries, nuts and seeds. By improving your gut microbiome you will be able to keep your brain healthy and having better mental clarity.
All these foods have nutrients that will improve our brain health and help us to think with clarity.
Digital Detox
After all these habits we need to always schedule in time for a digital detox, especially when our mind is already fogged. Brain fog for me usually happens when I have finished a scroll marathon on Instagram and I feel like i’m done with life. But ever since I started doing digital detox weekly I was able to eliminate brain fog and gain better mental clarity.
Take sometime out in your calendar, specific days that will be a digital detox day.
This could probably be once a week, and do more of physical nurturing activities that will enhance your relationship with yourself and also with the people you love.
These detox days will help us to avoid burnout, connect with what truly matter and help us focus more on the task in hand.
