6 Slow and Mindful Habits to incorporate into your Summer mornings
Summer is here and I’m sure it is the exciting season for everyone to go out and enjoy the warm weather. The beautiful summer mornings with early sunrise, birds chirping and blooming trees have always been etched in our memories. Slow and mindful habits to start your summer mornings are the best way to feel energized.
Summers can be enjoyed to the fullest when each morning has a routine to energize us for the day.
Routines can be built during any season but routines built during the summer are the most followed because we have a high energy during this season.
Worry not, these are not tedious routines, they are just small rituals that you can adopt to make your summer days better.Go through each of the rituals and pick and formulate a routine that makes you feel your best self this summer.
Hydrate on summer mornings
Hydration is the key to a perfect summer routine.
During our 7-8 hrs of sleep we are completely dehydrated.
So once we wake up a glass of water will rehydrate us and also help in flushing out toxins and kick starting metabolism
If you are like me you can also make the water more refreshing by adding in some cucumbers, lemon and mint leaves to it, helping the water taste better.

Adding in some chia seeds can also help your body to cool down more.
Get some sunshine
Go out and stand in the early morning sunshine.
Sunshine on our face can help improve our circadian rhythm helping our body to function better.
Sunshine is also proven to boost serotonin improving our mood and brain health
If you are getting the sunshine in the early morning, don’t use sunscreen and soak into the Vitamin D.
According to a research there is Vitamin D deficieny in many population groups around the globe.
Vitamin D is very important for our bone health and overall well being. What better time to get it than in the summers ?
Simple Morning Stretch
A morning stretch in the sunshine is also a great ritual to start your day.A simple stretch in the bed or if you prefer a stretch in the yoga mat in your balcony is also a great idea.
Stretching can help to relieve muscle tension that is caused by prolonged sitting at the same place not getting enough movement.
You can also try yoga if you feel interested, both these activities connect yourself with your body and help you to keep it active through the sunny days.
Morning Dry Brushing
Lymphatic Drainage is the most amazing thing that you can do for your body this summer.
Lymphatic drainage refers to a natural or therapeutic process that helps your body remove waste, toxins, and excess fluids through the lymphatic system.
You can do this by simple dry brushing technique in specific movements over your body. This routine helps us in preventing bloating, inflammation and helps in digestion.
Make a fruit bowl summer morning snack
Try out a seasonal fruit bowl pre breakfast.
A fruit bowl is more than just a colorful treat — it’s a powerhouse of health benefits. It helps us as natural energy boosters, aids in digestion and promotes healthy skin and hair as well.
Local Seasonal fruits are also a great way to opt for sustainable practices this Environmental Month. These fruits don’t require to travel from abroad or from long distances thus relying on less fossil fuels.
So a simple mindful choice of fruits can help us be one step further in sustainability. If you like to learn more about the ways that you can grow with the earth this environmental day, read my latest blog post on here 5 ways to get on your self growth journey along with the Planet, this World Environment Day
Walking Bare feet on grass
I know our floors are cold sometimes and we need to wear slip-ons.But bare feet walking is the best thing you can do this summer.
You can try not wearing slippers or socks inside the house and walk barefoot. Or in the morning when going for a walk in the park, remove your footwear and walk in the grass.
Our feet has millions of never endings that are connected to each of our organs.
Walking barefoot on grass or earth mindfully can reduce our anxiety, improves our foot strength and balance.
It also activates underused foot muscles and improves proprioception (your sense of body position).
Doing this in the morning is the perfect time to do,due to cooler temperatures, gentle sunlight and fresh dew.
Gardening
Summer is the perfect time to start gardening and enjoy watching your flowers bloom.
You can also grow simple vegetables to nourish your body as well.Watch a plant grow from seed to fruit is the most rewarding process that I want you to try out this summer.
Flowers as well, dahlias, daisies just watching them in your garden during the mornings just makes our heart full.
You can go to a plant nursery and get whatever plants that bring you joy or also just get vegetable seeds for your kitchen garden
The easiest to grow food are microgreens, tomatoes, herbs and ladys finger.Try starting with herbs that are already in your kitchen.
Interacting with the plants that you grow in the morning, watering them and caring for them brings in a lot of peace into your summer morning routine.
